Q & A With Judy Nelson
Q. Why did you start taking classes to learn intuitive skills?
A. Whenever I went for a reading, the psychic always told me, “You can do this. You should learn to do this.” So I finally took a class, and I found out that they were right! As soon as I started studying the skills, I could see people’s auras and many of their beliefs, emotions, and experiences vividly.
Q. Were you “born psychic” or was this something you developed? Can anyone develop it?
A. I began to see auras around people when I was about 16 years old. It just happened spontaneously. Luckily, I had people in my life who knew about auras, so they could reassure me that “I was not just seeing things.” I could tell if people were sick or well by the movement of the energy in their aura. I did not discover my healing ability until I took an energy healing class when I was 25 years old and began giving healings. I graduated from a Clairvoyant program in 1994, and I have taught intuitive skills since 1995. Throughout my years teaching, reading, and healing, I have seen that we are all born with a “sixth sense” and healing ability. Clearing techniques achieved through meditation and energy release allow a person to increase his or her natural intuition.
Q. What are the most important spiritual skills someone can learn?
A. Grounding and neutrality. When I started as a student, I was not a grounded, neutral individual. I was oversensitive, overemotional, and too easily wounded. I have gained a sense of emotional clarity and balance by becoming a more grounded, neutral individual. Now I know who I am, what I believe, and what I am capable of achieving.
Q. Do you use your spiritual skills in daily life?
A. I use my intuition all day, every day. It is a way of life for me now.
Q. Why do you teach these skills?
A. As a reader, healer, and teacher, I have seen so many lives transformed. I have seen people start successful careers doing what they love, find the love of their life, heal illnesses, find lost animals, and reconnect with their Higher Self. I have watched people gain the self-confidence to do what they always wanted to do.
Q. What have you learned from your spiritual experiences?
A.That I am in awe of the power of human potential, and I am grateful every day to facilitate and witness our ability to express the piece of God-light that we are.
Q. What is your specialty as a reader and healer?
A. My specialty is helping people gain a deeper understanding of themselves – their strengths, talents, and gifts, as well as their areas of blockage, and with this spiritual understanding, how to begin to bring their energy back into a balanced, clear, neutral state, and resolve or find neutrality regarding difficult issues in their life.
Q. How long have you been doing spiritual work?
A. I have been doing this since 1986. I work with people in individual sessions in-person and by phone and Skype. I also read for events, and in the course of one evening event, I may do 60 short readings. Therefore, I do about 300 sessions a year. I have also been reading palms and tarot cards since 1994.
Q. What do you keep in mind when you do a reading or healing for someone?
A. I keep in mind that people benefit from having hope that they can achieve happiness. Hope is a powerful “engine” that can motivate people to move forward in their lives and shift their energy to a higher, clearer vibration.
Q. Can you share an interesting story regarding a personal sessions.
In one session, I did a reading for a woman who was about 25 years old, and she was very unhappy with her life because she had no direction, no passion for a career, and no idea what she wanted to do with her life. She said she felt depressed because she felt lost. I did a career reading on her, and her Higher Self showed me pictures of her doing massage with healing light emanating from her hands. I told her about the massage picture as one potential direction to consider as a career, as it looked like she had a natural, healing talent. I got a letter from her a month later that she had enrolled in massage school and absolutely loved it. She said she felt like she had found her path. She said she felt happy for the first time in years!
Q.What would you think people gain from having a reading?
A. We all strive to be the best person we can be, and that is truly why we seek out having a reading. A Clairvoyant can neutrally look at where your strengths are and where your karmic blocks are, and help guide you to unlock your human potential to be the true, clear essence you were meant to be.
Q. What are your hobbies?
A. I have many hobbies that I enjoy very much. I especially enjoy gardening, as I love to see plants grow. I also enjoy cooking, especially Italian food, as I lived in Italy in my early 20’s and had the pleasure of eating a lot of delicious Italian food. I enjoy reading, as I see the images vividly in my mind when I read. I am passionate about music. I was a professional singer for 25 years, as well as a music therapist for 10 years, and I experienced the healing power of music first-hand. I love listening to music, dancing to music, singing music, and sharing music with others.
Q. Do you have any certificate /license/qualification other than your status as an ordained minister?
A. Yes. I have a Master’s Degree in Speech Pathology from California State University Northridge (2001), hold a license in Speech-Language Pathology, and am ASHA Certified. I am have also been a Board Certified Music Therapist since 1994. Apart from my spiritual work, I do speech therapy, accent reduction, and voice therapy, plus communication development with children with special needs. It is a great joy to work with people in this way.
Q. What spiritual practice do you put to use in your everyday life?
A.The awareness that I cannot control what others do, but I can be in charge of my own energy. If I am not happy, I can clear and shift my energy to a higher, balanced vibration.
Q. Is there anything you are excited about in regards to your’s and the planet’s development at this time?
A. On a personal level, I am excited to be bringing in new information from my Higher Self and sharing it with others. On a global level, I am excited about the “Green” movement, where people are incorporating more “green” technology in their homes and work places.
Q. How did you start communicating with animals?
A. Animals started communicating with me once I developed my clairvoyant abilities, and I accepted without doubt that I could hear their telepathic communication. It turns out that you can talk to them just as you would talk to humans – you just do it telepathically. All humans are able to communicate with any type of animal. You may find that you have an affinity for a particular species. I enjoy talking with them all.
After working helping people for many years, some of those people began asking me to work with their pets. I offered a course because I found that with a little practice, people told me that they were able to develop the ability to dialogue with an animal, ask it questions, learn its perspective personally and globally, find out what it needs, and offer it assistance if needed. Animals and humans share this planet in an intricately connected way. We need each other, and we benefit from treating animals with respect, as they are a very important part of the planetary balance.
Q. Can you share some interesting animal communication experiences that you’ve had?
A. I came home from work one day and found a wounded blackbird in my front yard. He had hurt his wing and could not fly. I telepathically told him I would take care of him and heal him. He hopped on top of a short bush in my front yard, and allowed me to feed him water through an eye dropper every few hours, and worms and birdseed in a bowl I held for him. When he didn’t like the taste of something, he turned and wiggled his tail feathers at me. Over the weekend, I tended to him every few hours and gave him energy healings. Within two days, he bowed his head to me, and flew away.
Another time, I was walking along the beach, and a seagull started walking next to me for about five minutes. The whole time, he was lecturing me telepathically about how unhappy he was about the pollution humans were causing in the ocean and on “his beach.” I told him I would clean up the beach on my next walk, and he hopped up and down excitedly, and then flew away. I knew he was content that I had heard his message and I was going to do something about it.
The funniest experience I had was when I went to visit my sister. I had never met her cat, a beautiful Calico. The cat sat in my lap and telepathically said to me, “Okay, I’ll let you stay in MY house.” I told the cat that it was my sister’s house, but the cat said, “Oh no. It’s MY house. I just allow her to live here.” That’s just what a cat would say!
Animals want to communicate with us. They want to tell us about the world, how much they love us, what they need, and what they see we need. They live authentically, and can teach us a lot about how to be ourselves. Once you start communicating with animals, the world will be a more interesting place to live!
Q. In closing, do you have any last “words of wisdom” that you would like to share?
A. Yes. I would like to encourage everyone to strive to be “the best you that you can be.” Then you are expressing your true essence and you are a gift to the world.
